Photo spam time! Same ones I uploaded to FB, but most of you don't have me on there! We went to Niagra on the Lake on Friday, which is a town maybe an hour drive from where I live. There lie many wineries of Canada, and a lot of them produce ice wine, which is pretty rare. Only that part of Ontario produces red ice wine, and even white ice wine is quiet expensive. And delicious! I bought a bottle to share with Paul, if shipping costs are too expensive I'll wait for him to have a business trip over here and we'll open it then^^
The gang I went with :D I told them to pose like that, as if they'd do it on their own. My sister and her husband, my parents, and my friend Kyle.
We went to the lakeside of the town and had our lunch there, which we packed beforehand. Woo! Picnic! The weather was beauts, so it was absolutely fine to sit outside for a while and enjoy each other's company.
We went to a couple of wineries, but took a tour at a specific one that my parents liked. On the right is the presser used to make ice wine, it takes the juices from frozen grapes at a certain temperature and uses the juices to make the wine. On the left is one of the tanks where the wine collects during the process. Look at the frost O:
We wandered the town, and I noticed how quaint it was! Although we wandered the downtown where it was well maintained, but I noticed while we were driving and got lost that the houses were also quite cute, well kept with their gardens, and were all built in different shapes and sizes. Somewhere I'd like to retire to.
We got some ice cream from an award winning place called Cows (IT WAS DELICIOUS) And walked around the town while eating it. I ended up giving half of mine to my Mom because it was so rich. While walking through a park, we discovered a Canada Day frisbee, and along with Kyle and Jack, we started playing. It had been so long since we had! Oh childhood.
